This is a sweater I knit for my then boyfriend, my now husband, aka the Swede, in the summer of 1989. I absolutely love the wool, it's Kilcarra, as far as I remember. I like those colours, although the Michelin man effect on the sleeves is not the most flattering. And I really enjoyed knitting it, I remember that I knit it while I was working as a summertime youth hostel warden in a suburb of Dublin. Aaaaah, sigh...nostalgia...
Anyway it turns out that the Swede is a very warm-blooded creature, and he isn't a fan of big woolly sweaters. He hasn't worn it in years!
I got an idea last night, why don't I frog it (rip it) and knit something for myself out of it. So here's a shot of it, before it meets it's maker in the next few weeks.
Now to look for a suitable pattern to do justice to the wool!
